Stunning off-grid cabin in Ligar Bay juts out over lagoon
The 45m² cabin sits right above the lagoon at Ligar Bay creating a private haven on the water.

The eco cabin is completely off-grid, with the solar panels on the roof supplying all power requirements. There is gas hot water.
The cabin is glazed at both ends - at the rear it opens out to an area of flat lawn.
The view is immensely calming. At this time of the year, bioluminescence is often spotted at night.
The lagoon is sheltered enough for the owner’s daughter to kayak or paddle board while Mum watches from the deck. Kayaks and boards are stored under the house.
It may be small, but because the entire interior opens up to the outdoors, there is ample space to entertain.
The extended roofline provides shade at the hottest times of the day.
With a fully timber-lined interior, the cabin has a warm, inviting ambience. There’s a woodburner to provide heat in winter.
And this is the view out the other end of the open-plan space.
Twin beds maximise the space and allow a circulation route to the outdoors.
Much of the living happens outside, including cooking and eating.
