Suburb shopping, new winter survey reveals how wide Kiwi cast their net when searching for a home

A recent Trade Me Property survey reveals most Kiwi home buyers cast a wide net, with 38% searching across 2-3 suburbs and 30% considering 4-6 areas. Only 11% limit their search to a single suburb.

Buyers are evenly split between searching a tight local area and several clusters within a city. Auckland dominates the most searched suburbs, with Mount Eden and Remuera leading. Outside Auckland, Christchurch's Merivale and Cashmere made the top 10, showing strong Canterbury demand.
