Trade Me’s most-viewed property listings of 2025 revealed: From an ark house to a golden retriever homestay

Trade Me has crunched the numbers to reveal the most viewed property listings of 2025, showcasing the incredible variety of homes Kiwi love to look at. From an iconic ark-replica to a luxury Remuera mansion, these homes captured the attention of thousands in 2025.

Trade Me Customer Director Gavin Lloyd said the listings prove that a home can be anything, whether it's an architectural masterpiece or a unique, converted building.

"It's a testament to the sheer variety of homes on Trade Me, proving that a home doesn't just have to be a house, it can be an ark, a luxury resort, or even an architectural work of art," Mr. Lloyd said.

1st Place: The Ark House – This Christchurch icon and replica of Noah’s Ark, officially named A Clifton "Ark House" Reimagined (4 Loader Lane, Sumner, Christchurch), took the top spot with a massive 151,330 views.

2nd Place: Luxury Remuera mansion – Home to entrepreneur Diane Foreman and broadcaster Paul Henry, this palatial property (New York New York!, 33 Arney Crescent, Remuera, Auckland) was the second most-viewed with 119,432 views. Mr. Lloyd noted that listings like this give a glimpse into the aspirational top tier of Aotearoa’s property market.

3rd Place: Sculptural Masterpiece – Just a stone's throw from the Remuera mansion, this high-end, newly built sculptural home (A sculptural masterpiece in the sky, 32 Tuhaere Street, Ōrākei, Auckland) secured third place with 94,935 views.

Beyond the top three, common themes included landmark residences, European-inspired abodes, properties with swimming pools, and homes offering additional income streams.

"It's clear that while we love the quirky, a bit of luxury on the coast is always a hit," Mr. Lloyd commented.

One property that truly stood out for its unique offering was the Golden Retriever Homestay in Te Horo, which offered a lifestyle home and a ready-made business.

"We often see interest spike for homes with character, but the Golden Retriever homestay in Te Horo took the biscuit!" Mr. Lloyd said, highlighting its appeal for those looking for a change of pace.
