This new mount adapter ring allows you to attach older Canon FD lenses to a Canon EOS camera body, whether SLR or Digital SLR. Not made by Canon

The adapter includes a correction lens that enables the attached lens to reach infinity. Otherwise without the correction lens the adapter acts as a short extension ring which can be used for macro function, focusing down to 2 metres with a 200mm FD lens. Mount adapters without the correction lenses are available.

All FD to EOS adapters with glass considerably soften the image--is reasonable at f8.

Focus is manual.

The aperture required will need to be set manually on the Canon FD lens and auto-exposure will then function. A rotating ring is supplied for those FD lenses which have aperture adjustment through a pin at the rear of the lens. If the Canon FD lens does not have an aperture ring, maximum aperture will be utilised. Focussing to infinity and TTL flash metering is preserved with this adapter.

To Mount: Mount the Canon FD Lens onto the adapter, then mount them onto the Canon camera. Set the aperture on the lens, switch the camera on, choose any program from the Mode dial except shutter speed priority, focus the lens manually, and shoot.

To Remove: Remove both lens and the adapter together from the camera in the same way you would remove a lens. Then remove the adapter from the lens by depressing the lock on the mount, rotating the mount on the lens and removing.
