Description
Canon Epoca 35mm film point-and-shoot camera. Unusual, fully automatic, camcorder-like design. Released in 1990 as part of Canon's successful Sure Shot range.
I have just replaced the 2CR5 lithium battery ($20) and put a new expired date Kodak Ultramax 400-24 ($?) film into the camera to test that all is working as it should. Good clean condition with soft case included. Note:the expired film has been stored well and should process fine through a film processor such as Splendid.
The camera has a distinctive cylindrical shape that resembles a video camcorder, a design fad of the late 1980s and early 1990s. It features a non-interchangeable 35-105mm f/2.8-6.6 power zoom lens. The camera uses a 3-point Smart Autofocus system with a near-infrared beam for sharp focus a and powerful, built-in flash is integrated into the pivoting lens cover. The Epoca includes a standard eye-level viewfinder and an additional low-angle (waist-level) finder on top of the body for unique shooting perspectives. It is a fully automatic camera with auto exposure, drop-in film loading, and automatic film advance/rewind, making it highly user-friendly.
