Marantz have always been one of the best known and highly respected audio companies on the planet. Utilizing some of the world's best audio engineering and high quality Japanese manufacturing expertise, they consider sheer musical enjoyment to be their highest priority.

This is one of their earliest home theatre amps... the beloved SR-73. Built circa 1997, it heralded Marantz's move into home cinema... they had already spent over 40years operating in the upper echelons of the music market.

While modern AV receivers may have all the latest bells and whistles, I promise you that few will have the engaging musicality of a Marantz.

This amp absolutely shines as a dedicated stereo amp, and that's what I've been using it for. Pushing out more than 70W per channel (into 8ohms) it's got plenty of volume for average living rooms to party in, and two sets of speaker outs means you can run a second pair of speakers in another room.

It has a dedicated phono stage built in, so if you have a decent turntable then this will partner with it brilliantly.

Also featured on this amp are tone controls, an AM/FM radio tuner, multiple stereo source inputs, as well as some basic video circuits.

The display is bright and clear as a bell, and all the functions work great. There's no remote included with this, but you can access all the controls from the front panel. And believe it or not it works with existing Marantz remotes... I used the remote from my 2006 model PM4001-OSE with it!!
