THIS IS A HIGH GRADE EMBOSSED MULTI LAYER FILM. The layers add strength and resistance to puncturing, which is very important when vacuuming hard or sharp items such as smoked fish frames or meat bones. It is also critical in the freezer when hard items are rubbing together, this will easily puncture cheaper quality film. The layers are also there to hold the vacuum. Cheap single layer film will actually allow air to seep through the film and break the vacuum. ZeroPak pre-made bags has an EMBOSSED DIMPLE PATTERN INSIDE which allows for even air extraction. Plain sided bags allow air pockets to form and prevent a complete vacuum. They are precut for convenience for people using the same size bag each time. ZeroPak pre-made bags are suitable for cooking. You can reheat in the bag, sous vide, or microwave to defrost or cook. Just make a small puncture in the corner of the bag to allow expanding air to escape.
