Our Firepit are made from CorTen steel, a weathering steel that develops a rust patina. This industrial looking material is both durable and dynamic in appearance, exhibiting a sense of multi-dimensional layers of deep copper and bronze hues. The CorTen steel Firepit do not come pre-weathered. The rust patina resists corrosion, requires no treatment or weather-proofing and does not compromise structural strength of the steel. Unlike raw steel, CorTen steel is corrosion resistant due to its alloy composition - it will not show bubbling, flaking or peeling, which normally occurs with raw steel. Rather, a soft intended layer of rust blankets the steel with deep earthy tones and is why CorTen is favored among architects and artists. CorTen steel is made from recycled content and is 100% recyclable.
