Comes from The island of Guadalupe and Mexico.
Grows similar to Butia capitata. or Jelly Palm except for its fan like foliage.
Trunk grows to about 12 m. tall and about 40 cm. thick Petiole to 1.5 m. Blades to 2 m. long.
An endangered species due to goat depredation of its seeds .
I know of one growing in Auckland and we have several growing in our property in the EPOP. that we planted.
Frost hardy and no prickles or spines.
The plants are in Pb40s We only have few of these.
