Description
Aida’s flowers are a showy mix of rose, salmon and apricot shades, with green leaves. It grows to about 70-90cm tall, clumps fairly quickly and blooms freely. Cannas look great in a tropical garden or adding colour in a border. They will also grow well in a pot for a splash of colour on your deck or patio.
Cannas are very easy to grow. In spite of being classed ‘tropical’ they will withstand winter frosts as they grow from rhizomes underground. At the beginning of winter cut the stems short and the plant will grow again when the warmer weather starts, sending up new shoots in the spring and begin flowering again by early summer.
Most cannas prefer full sun and free-draining moist soil, but in reality will tolerate a variety of soil conditions. Each stem flowers only once so remove the stem once the flower has finished, and new stems will keep flowering all summer.
The shipping price is for 1 or more potted plants sent in a box but would be reduced if I sent the plant cut back and bare-rooted. (It would be well wrapped in damp newspaper) in a courier bag.
