Scabiosa ochroleuca yellow flowering butterfly flower, pincushion flower or lace flower are other names for these delicate flowers with a frill of petals arranged neatly around the central “pincushion”. The flowers attract butterflies and bees to feed and flowers can be covered on warm summer days. They flower in summer through autumn and, in a good season, early winter. Flowers are on stems up to 50-60 cm tall and are good picking.

Listing is for plant with a mound of leaves about 5 cm tall and potted in a 9 cm pot. In summer they may have a flowering stem as shown.
