About Vinnies Re Sew Vinnies Re Sew is a sustainable, up-cycling initiative run by St Vincent de Paul Wellington to reduce textile waste, support people in the community and skill people to return to work, education or start their own business.

Donated fabric and old machines (sold as parts because we know a lot of manufacturers no longer make bits for our beloved machines) are sold on Trade Me to fund the project.

Vinnies Re Sew is a sustainable, up-cycling initiative run by St Vincent de Paul Wellington to reduce textile waste. We make items for our own projects and community groups.

We train volunteers and participants on our work experience programme to repurpose textiles and clothing which can’t be sold in our shops – saving it from landfill. We provide drop in sessions on a Monday for people to work on their own projects, and for a small koha make the space available to other groups.
