These green garnets were discovered in Tsavor National Park, Africa. They were originally promoted by Tiffanys (New York) with a full range of tsavorite jewellery.

A good faceted tsavorite of this size is very rare. Colour is often pale green. The saturated green of this one resembles creme de menthe.

Has been in a collection since it was cut and polished in New Zealand 40yrs ago, yet to be mounted in jewellery.

Qualified appraisers familiar with the gem have assessed it over the years with due diligence. Insurance replacement value as at 11th August 2017 is NZ$31,780.
