Description
Brand new akoya pearl necklace, handmade by myself. Gemlab ID is included to show this is a akoya pearl necklace.
It is 48cm long, pearl size is just over 5mm. It has got high to very high luster. The colour of pearl is cream with pink overtone. It is coming along with a 14ct yellow gold clasp. Sit in a new cushion box.
I did a rough calculation on cost of making this pearl necklace thought you might also interested. I bought 250 pearls in total from Japan 3 years ago. I made 4 necklaces from this batch. 2 was sold and 1 was given to my friend as a birthday gift. If my math is right, just the pearls used for this necklace costs me $320.50 including import tax. The gold clasp cost me $82. Gemlab ID was $40 including administration fee. Normally jewellery shop charges $80 for re-strung the pearls. Totally, it worth $484.50. Of course, if you buy it from the shop, it would be either cost involved. Based on what I know, something like this, you would likely to pay over $800 for it.
I noticed there are lot of akoya pearl necklaces on sell at the moment. My question to you is if you can get a new one, why buying something old unless you know how to clean and re-strung a old pearl necklace.
Good luck:)
