Profile: Real Name/s: Laughton Kora, Francis Kora, Stuart Kora, Bradley Kora, Daniel McGruer Laughton & Brad began playing together in the early 90's in a band called Aunty Beatrice. Dan McGruer is the only non-related member of Kora. He first hooked up with Laughton when they performed together in Queenstown band Soul Charge, playing and writing their own music. Following the collaboration in 2001 by Laughton & Dan, Kora was formed as a five-piece band in 2002 with the addition of brothers Stuart, Brad & Francis Kora.

Kora returns with their long-awaited Fifth Season album, a bold new chapter from Aotearoa’s masters of bass-heavy groove. Blending dub, rock and funk, the album channels their signature deep sound while pushing into fresh new territory. The album is heavy, melodic, and grounded in kaupapa Maori, driven by a band that embraces innovation, storytelling, and raw energy.
