Description
SOUNDS OF THE STEAM AGE BROUGHT TO THE LISTENER THROUGH THE MEDIUM OF STEAM AGE 33 1/3 rpm VINYL TECHNOLOGY.
As part of the LISTENING ALONG THE LINE series MAIN TRUNK MEMORIES was produced to commemorate the life and achievements of Dawson Wilkinson who had recently been tragically killed in a boating accident on Lake Rotura while he and PETER MELLOR were still on the quest to record the final months of STEAM PASSENGER TRAINS ON THE NORTH ISLAND MAIN TRUNK LINE.
A companion to POWER FOR THE GRADE, MAIN TRUNK MEMORIES is a tribute to the OVERNIGHT STEAM EXPRESSES which had been plying the route between AUCKLAND and WELLINGTON ever since 1909.
This record is a VERY RARE FIND and is for the serious 331/3 LP VINYL COLLECTOR.
Possibly NEVER removed from its plastic sleeve since it was produced nearly 60 years ago, this Vinyl is as PRISTINE AS YOU'LL GET and due to its appreciating value almost too good to play at all.
Courier by arrangement with buyer.
