Description

One early majolica glazed fish-jug. Likely to be of English origin.

Majolica is a whimsical, richly sculpted and glazed type of Victorian Ceramic. Majolica is lead or tin glazed pottery popular in the last half on the 19th century. Very colourful by nature, usually takes the form of natural objects like leaves, flowers and living things.

A lovely item in very good condition - some glaze crazing evident, especially with the fishes mouth. Please see photos.
