Description
A really neat, and very very old chamber pot with the backstamp of W. Adams & Sons England. I am told that this backstamp in green dates it to 1819 to 1864. (I do not know this for myself, so it is sold as is, however old it is. Would be great to get a closer date off someone who knows, as it might even be Georgian or Regency etc) Helpful watcher says ...sorry to tell you but this dates from 1950. An excellent reference book is Goddens guide to pottery and porcelain marks in which you will find this mark. mcavhall (419 ... It is in very good condition. Nice & clean, no chips or cracks and is not stained etc. It has a little, what I take to be, manufacturing mark or indent or flaw, however you want to call it, but its done when made, and not damage done since I would say. Its quite fine. Measures approx 220mm odd at the rim, and approx 125mm odd high. Because of its age and fragile nature, I would only post in a bigger box with plenty of packaging to protect it, but of course the PO will charge more to send a larger parcel, so postage costs are as per PO rate set below. A real neat antique piece, OR, a neat 1950s piece. Thanks. refN3104917
