A stylish Staffordshire porcelain creamer.
Cream body of china with clear glaze, transfer of wild floral arrangement on both sides.
Design is a cow resting on four legs looking forward.
18 cm long x 6 cm wide x 8 cm tall
Creamers in the shape of a cow with an opening or lid on its back for filling, known as cow creamers, originated in Holland, but became very popular in England, first with Dutch imports, then from about 1740 in salt-glaze stoneware from the Staffordshire Potteries.
