Description
Summertime trout fishing means dry fly time! Trout are busy feeding on the surface for most of the day. Terrestrials, may flies, caddis and just about any other insect falling onto the water is fair game. The following pack contains 24 flies:
Terrestrial Dry Flies Deer Hair Cicada Olive size 6 and 12, Madame X size 12, Black Cricket size 10, Royal Wulff size 8, Blue Blowfly size 12, Rubber-Legged Stimulator size 14, Green Beetle size 14, and Lace Moth (Passion Vine Hopper) size 16
Mayfly and Caddis Dries Adams size 14, Adams Irresistible size 14, Pheasant Tail size 14, Elk Hair Caddis size 14, Parachute Caddis size 14, and Dad’s Favourite size 12
Parachute Dry Flies Parachute Adams size 14, Parachute Pheasant Tail size 14, Parachute Caddis long shank size 12, and Klinkhammer size 14
CDC Dun Emerger size 14
Nymphs Willow Grub size 14, Pheasant Tail size 14, Hare and Copper size 14, and Copper John size 14
I added some nymphs for fishing under your larger dry flies. This combination can be deadly. Parachute flies are fished dry but the sit lower in the surface film, imitating emergers. The white post or parachute allows you to see them better. The CDC emerger may be fished in the surface film or swung over rising fish. These are my picks to cover most situations you will encounter this summer. Just remember to hesitate before striking, especially in slow water. Foam lines are fish magnets and you should always watch for the gentle rises in them. Tight Lines…
