Labeled "POUCH, CANTEEN CARRIER/UTILITY", indicating that it can be used for general purpose items as well. Dual MOLLE straps allow the pouch to be attached to belts, combat vests and packs.

The MOLLE II redesign includes an adjustable top flap with quick-release buckle closure, an elasticated drawstring around the rim, and two side pockets with hook & loop closures.
