Description
Designed by Phil Kraft, the original concept of the Ugly Stik was to design a radio controlled aircraft which could be built in an absolute minimum of time and could be considered as expendable.
The airplane that took 3 evenings to design and finish became one of the most built and flown designs in RC!
We have improved on the original design by adding in two plywood wing servo mounts to allow two standard size aileron servos to be mounted in the wing, and a servo tray for mounting standard size servos inside the fuselage.

At Hangar One we are thrilled to produce a range of laser cut short kitsets of some classic designs.
Our laser cut short kits include all of the shaped parts in balsa and ply which would normally require the builder to cut them from sheets. Items such as formers, wing ribs and other shaped pieces are all precisely laser cut. This leaves you to purchase only the sticks, spruce or balsa sheets you need to complete the kit, some of which you may already have on-hand.
Our kits are proudly made in NZ! We hand select our wood stock for each kitset from the best Balsa Wood from Papua New Guinea and European Plywoods. The CAD design and laser cutting is done by Master Modeller Gwyn Avenell in Auckland.
- Note that the picture of the complete aircraft is indicative of it's completed appearance. The kitset requires building and supply of all finishing materials & hardware.
