Come and visit us at Lake Opouahi – a predator free creche (40ha) for young kiwi birds. It is located approx. 1hr north west of Napier.

The winner of this auction will receive a guided tour of the creche, exploring native fauna and flora and learn about ECOED’s Save the Kiwi Hawke’s Bay project. You will be shown a variety of pest control and monitoring tools used onsite. You will also get a chance to see a kiwi during its routine health check.

The experience will take place at the Kiwi Creche at Opouahi Scenic Reserve, approx. 1 hour north west of Napier (access map will be provided to the winner)

The winner will be required to arrange his/her own transport to and from the creche.

ECOED is a charitable trust promoting kiwi conservation and outdoor education in Hawke’s Bay. We have a small team of dedicated volunteers who do pest control and kiwi monitoring over 15,000 ha of Kaweka Forest Park. Our Save the Kiwi Hawke’s Bay programme aims to increase the population of North Island brown kiwi at Kaweka to 1000 by 2050.
