Omakere School & Community Association have been kindly donated a guided hunting trip for 2 people at Waipari Lodge (southern end of Lake Taupo) valued at $5300. This will include accomodation for an overnight stay. The prize winners will need to get themselves to Lakeview Hangar at the Taupo Airport and will be choppered down to Waipari Lodge and returned. This will be a guided trip (Saturday, returning Sunday)

As a guest of Waipari you will be hosted by qualified guides who are members of SCI, and all have extensive experience at hunting in New Zealand bush environments. All have a passion for hunting and the preservation of natural environments, to ensure the continuation of hunting throughout NZ. Hunt exclusively and safely on 10,000 acres of Waipari native bush, surrounded by Tongariro National Park – this is true hunting New Zealand style.

The main lodge is set amongst this bush setting and houses the kitchen and lounge area, a perfect hunting lodge feel with an open log fire where the talk of the days hunt is retold while the meals are prepared. Modern warm, carpeted cabins with hot showers and efficient wood burners provide a place to rest after the hunting day. Meals are in keeping with the setting, as you might expect game is frequently on the dinner menu.

At Waipari we have an emphasis on New Zealand’s finest food and wine. A hearty breakfast starts the day for whatever pursuit awaits. We can arrange specific food requirements to meet all tastes.
