A rare item. This was screwed through the top of a champagne cork down into the bottle. The champagne could then be dispensed through the fish head spout on the top of the shaft and turned off and on by way of the small tap handle. In this way the gentleman, woman of the house could have a glass without actually opening the bottle and thereby losing the fizz if the entire bottle was not consumed. 335 mm overall length spout protrudes 50 mm out from shaft to allow ease of dispensing into a glass.
