Selling on behalf (notes from the owner)
The current owner's father had wanted to own a grandfather clock all his life, and originally bought it from Ashby Bergh's in Christchurch. It’s a 1950s German made, Kienzle tall clock and stands in a modern, walnut, glass case. It has an unobtrusive, sonorous chime, strike, and tick, 3 different chimes (Big Ben, St Michael, and Dick Whittington). Full chime and strike on the hour and partial each quarter, extending the selected time, till full tune on the hour. There’s a silent option as well.
The clock’s mechanism was fully overhauled in 2003 by a clock, watch maker and jeweller in Riccarton, Harrington's. When the clock needed to be transported to another location, a grandfather clock enthusiast dismantled it and wrapped the mechanism in newspaper then further wrapped it in plastic and placed it in a polystyrene box.
The current owner no longer has space for it and so reluctantly has put it up for sale. The clock is sold as is, where is in its unassembled state. *** NOTE Pick up is in Christchurch ***
