Striking and highly detailed fine unusual 1716 Johann Baptist Homann's hand coloured copper engraved allegorical frontispiece of the "Atlas Novus Terrarum Orbis Imperia Regna et Status", a famous geographical atlas published by the German cartographer Johann Baptist Homann in Nuremberg in the early 18th century. The engraving depicts the Titan Atlas holding up the heavens above a map of the Eastern Hemisphere.
