Around 100 Years Old This Stunning Rare 19th Century Antique Cedar Camel Box is from The Swat Valley In Pakistan, Made From Himalayan Cedar And Jointed Construction. With Brass Inlay And Hidden Compartments.
In 18th & in Early 19th Century People of Indus Valley in India & Pakistan Used to Put A Camel Seat “A Huge Decorated Wooden Box” on Top of a Camel to put their Precious Belongings in while moving from one Place to another.
Artisans From This Area Are Renown As Master Craftsmen Working With Cedar. Unique Hand Carving, Brass Inlays and Hidden Internal Space’s Bring This Piece To Life.
The Swat Valley is a beautiful mountainous area of the Hindu Kush that straddles the Afghan-Pakistan border. Was part of the Silk Road. The population is predominantly ethnic Pashtun or Gujjar.
