Description
An early signed watercolour painting of two footballers and their humorous after-match exchange. The artist has signed bottom left and the conversation is written in pencil beneath the players.
To aid with dating, the reference to "half backs" is a term that ran out of use by the 1970s - "midfielders" becoming the new description. Also the 'uniforms' worn by the players are well before the 1960s, so I would date this original artwork to the 1940s or probably earlier.
The visible artwork measures 15cm by 23.5cm(the frame 27cm by 36cm), it's protected behind glass, in good condition and ready to hang.
