On offer is one new copy of West of Windwhistle, stories of the Lake Coleridge area. This is an oral history of people's experiences of living in this well known high country community in the Rakaia Gorge, community of Selwyn and Methven, Canterbury. Stories of station life on the properties go back almost 100 years and recall the generations of owners, managers and staff who have lived and worked at Mt Algidus, Glenthorne, Acheron Bank, Lake Coleridge, High Peak, Snowdon and The Point Stations and the 20 properties that were split from them. A large collection of both colour and black and white photographs are found throughout this 216 page, A4 size book. Editions one and two of this popular book have already sold out. It has recently been reprinted with updates to cover events up until 2018.
This book is sold as a community group fundraiser. An ideal present for anyone who enjoys Canterbury history and stories of South Island high country life.
