This was originally banned when published in 2003 but the ban was lifted and it was reissued in 2008. 307 pages. Background to book: "A senior police detective is investigating allegations made by an author against Solicitor-General David Collins. Detective Superintendent Rod Drew confirmed today he was continuing his investigation into a complaint Anne Hunt made some time ago to police about alleged inaccuracies in an affidavit made by Dr Collins. Mrs Hunt, a Horowhenua district councillor, and Dr Collins have been in a legal dispute over the book Broken Silence she wrote about a woman who had sued her former therapist for sexual abuse. Dr Collins had been the woman's lawyer and Mrs Hunt's dispute with him centred on whether he vetted parts of the book's manuscript to avoid breaching court orders and confidentiality. After the book was published the therapist successfully sued Mrs Hunt for being in contempt of court. But High Court orders, including a ban on Broken Silence, were overturned in the Court of Appeal last year. (2008) The story of the investigation was broken by Investigate magazine editor Ian Wishart. " The author: Anne Hunt is best known as the author of The Foxton Murder published in 1983, and has written several other books including Broken Silence (2003). She worked as a journalist for Foxton s community newspaper, the Manawatu Herald, and served on the Horowhenua District Council. Anne was born in Palmerston North in 1951.
