We produce Blackwood barn doors for clients and have decided to list a couple of standard type doors in treated pine. Along with the successful Blackwood versions, these are designed for exterior use. There are two basic sizes that are generally made. The smaller one is 2000mm high x 850mm wide. The larger being 2000mm x 1200mm wide....each have their purposes, depending on the opening they cover. We use ex 100 x 20mm H4 tongue and groove boarding with three horizontal rails and two opposing braces. We utilise construction glue and exterior brads to secure the rails etc It is then up to the purchaser to primer and paint to their own decor. The bidding price is for one 850mm wide door and the buy now is for one 1200mm door, ex our workshop. Here is an image of a pair of treated pine barn doors completed for a client, measuring 2270 H x 2700W. The photos are indicative of the finished results in Blackwood, not the advertised treated pine doors. Hardware is now readily available from several listings on Trademe at a reasonable cost.
