Up for sale is our COVID project Office / Sleepout, purpose-built as a high-quality work-from-home space.
The cabin is installed on non-fixed footings and can be lifted and relocated by a tiny house or building relocation company of your choice.
Originally designed as a 4-person office, this cabin was engineer-designed to BRANZ guidelines and assembled with the help of a registered builder. As we are planning to redevelop our property, it is no longer required.
This is not a standard budget "tiny shoebox". It is a full-featured, solid build that feels much closer to a small house than a typical cabin.
Features include:
- Fully treated 90mm timber framing with treated plywood floor and roof
- Shingle roof with Colorsteel fascia
- 10mm and 13mm GIB throughout
- Hard-wearing, attractive laminate flooring
- Fully insulated floor, walls and roof
- Four windows and a front French door, all double-glazed using 4mm laminated safety glass for noise reduction and security
- Fully wired with internal switchboard and double power sockets in each corner
- Pre-wired alarm system (alarm unit included, just needs connecting)
- 8 quality LED downlights inside
- 3 external downlights and 2 external wall lights
- Toshiba heat pump for year-round heating and cooling
- 32A caravan power plug with 5m external extension lead
- CAT6 external data connection for wired internet, plus optional ground lead (currently unused)
- Optional matching office furniture: corner desks, drawers and a standalone closet (by negotiation)
The space is light and airy and was intentionally designed with easy conversion to a fully self-contained unit in mind. Add two small internal walls and plumbing and you have a compact, well laid-out living unit.
The 3.6m cabin width was chosen specifically to support future flexibility and extensibility.
- Deck shown in photos is fixed to the ground. It can be included if desired, but will need to be sawn off for relocation.
