Ps5 original disc edition. Took a fall a couple of years back, worked fine up until recently when the disc drive failed to open. In my frustrations i opened the console to try and repair unsuccessfully. Black lugs and rubber, screw bits were broken when i tried to fix it. As I couldn't play my disc games I then went digital and played happily until a recent update which wouldn't install forcing the console to safe mode after a couple of failed install attempts. I would then use safe mode to clear cache and rebuild database this worked to get console back operating as it should, I then avoided updating and happily played my games again for awhile.... Eventually thanks to not being able to log into my Playstation account without updating i was forced to default reset and try getting the update to install. Which i failed to do. All my areas of attempting the update through Google and you tube have been unsuccessful..

I haven't tried to install via usb and read that some people haven't been able to update when the blu ray disc drive is faulty.

Recommend replacing blue ray disc drive and doing the refurbish reset and install of firmware la de dah Stuff that is out of my league....

Photo's show as detailed as possible the damage from drop, also the screen process of me just now getting it running on PS5 platform again. Is currently out of safe mode as per last photos..... if I try update it goes back around in the same circle... over it.

Surplus to requirements as have sourced new replacement. Console has seen minimal use over last 2 year's as I only game every now and then. Dust shown is since new and i am the only person to open it
