This tall eye-catching variety of Kangaroos Paw plant has handsome iris-like foliage and distinctive fuzzy yellow-green flowers that grow to some 2 metres high x 1 metre wide from Spring to Autumn.. Suitable to a wide range of climates, although they grow best where summer humidity is low and the winters are not too severe (they can tolerate mild frost), this is one of the easiest and most rewarding of the Kangaroo Paws. They can be grown indoors or in pots and make a charming patio display. These plants are popular with all nectar seeking birds and the blooms make an interesting long living cut flower. They do not like organic fertilisers which promote crown rot, but do appreciate a light mulch. 20 seed Kangaroo Paw is easy from seed which takes on average about 21 days to germinate at 18-22 degrees C. However germination can take up to 90 days. It can be sown outdoors most of the year but is best in spring or autumn to avoid the coldest and hottest months.
