Description
A relief moulded Victorian Late 19th Century pottery "Gaudy Welsh" jug, the raised decoration of vines & grapes painted in coloured enamels. The jug is in good condition although most of the pink lustre highlights have worn away over time but as the loss is consistent all over not too obvious and the jug still displays well. There is the odd speck of colour loss to the rim but the main enamels are intact. The interior is stained through use but the exterior clear. Unmarked and although described as "Gaudy Welsh" this type of jug usually attributed to Staffordshire. Height to top of handle 17.5cm, max. width 14cm, base diameter 8cm.
