Hayanami and lots of other Japanese destroyers were relegated to running troops and protecting convoys for much of the war. They were armed with some of the best torpedoes ever invented to date—the Long Lance torpedo—but were pressed into service ferrying Army troops to the island battles that dominated the Pacific War. Once America changed its standing orders for submarines from evade destroyers to destroy them, Hayanami feel prey to USS Harder—a highly decorated sub. This limited edition kits features new parts and a waterline hull.
