The Chrysler Valiant Charger was introduced in 71 in Australia, the VH series ran from 71 to 73. The VH Charger 770 was a luxury performance coup variant of the uniquely Australian Chrysler VH Valiant Charger, produced in Australia and New Zealand from 1971 to 1973. It featured improved interior and exterior styling, such as carpet, better seats, and an alloy-spoked steering wheel, and came with a 5.2-litre V8 engine option, although six-cylinder engines were also available.
The 770 was a successful and acclaimed model, winning the 1971 Australian Wheels Car of the Year award and proving popular in New Zealand due to its powerful engines and responsive handling on its winding roads. Although there are a few of these on our New Zealand roads, most seen are sporting the 6 cylinder, making this one a rare find.
