Description

This 1995 Mazda RX-7 FD Bathurst Type-R is a rare and highly sought-after factory racing edition, with only 500 examples ever produced. It represents one of Mazda’s most celebrated performance icons: lightweight, balanced, and engineered to deliver the legendary FD driving experience in its purest form. For collectors, enthusiasts, and anyone chasing a genuine Bathurst car, this is a standout opportunity.

I purchased the car just over a year ago from my brother, who imported it from Japan in 2021. It arrived as a Grade 4.5 at auction, and I have all the original documentation and paperwork to support its history and authenticity. The car has never been modified and is in great factory condition, making it an excellent car for a collector or enthusiast.

Key features:

  • 13B rotary engine with sequential twin-turbo system
  • Type-R Bathurst performance package
  • Manual transmission
  • Original factory bodykit
  • Rare limited edition model (1 of 500 produced)

Mechanically, the RX-7 runs beautifully. I keep it active and healthy by starting it every couple of weeks, always warming it up properly, giving it a good drive, and cooling it down before storing it again. It has been cared for with the respect a rotary deserves, and it shows.

The only reason I’m parting with it is practicality. As I’m getting older, it’s becoming harder to get in and out of the car, and it deserves to be enjoyed by someone who will really appreciate what it is. This is a rare Bathurst Type-R with an unmodified history, excellent paperwork, original features, and genuine collector appeal. Serious buyers only, please.
