This 2009 Toyota Prius hybrid hatchback combines practicality with great fuel economy.

The 1.8-litre hybrid engine is very fuel efficient, which is ideal with today's petrol prices. It's an import and I'm one of its New Zealand owners. The car is in excellent condition both mechanically and in its appearance.

It's easy to drive around town and on the open road. The Prius has earned its reputation for reliability and low running costs. Toyota's hybrid system switches easily between electric and petrol power, which means fewer trips to the petrol station.
