I've been trying to learn guitar for 10 years, I've had many one on one instructors and paid for what seems $1000's of dollars worth of online lessons, with very slow progress. I stumbled across Ryan on trademe and thought I'd try his instruction. Ryan has a very systematic approach which ultimately leads you to understanding how to play your guitar in a creative and productive manner, apposed to just learning and playing songs I highly recommend Ryan and his approach to tuition.

Fabulous teacher! I started with Ryan to help my son learn guitar. My son decided practicing was too hard, but I continued. I was, and still am, very impressed with his patience, calmness and incredible skill and passion with the guitar. My guitar playing and confidence is continuing to grow with his tutelage, from tips for more effective learning, to playing techniques, theory and songwriting. I absolutely recommend him for any age from beginner through someone wanting to up their game.

I would absolutely recommend Ryan for guitar lessons. I started as a complete beginner, had no idea about anything musical let alone chords and strumming that made a song! He was so patient and kind and encouraged me all the way with little tips and tricks to make it easier. It was always a fun hour and it went so quickly - lots of banter and laughs along the way. I can now play simple songs that actually sound like songs and can change between simple chords easily. A great teacher.

My 9 year old son has been having guitar lessons with Ryan for a few months now. My son loves his time with Ryan. Ryan is very patient with him when he doesn't grasp what he is telling him. My son started from complete scratch with Ryan, and what he has learned in such a short space of time is incredible. He is very relatable, and definitely worth the money we pay.
