What does the ‘Listed' date mean on Trade Me Property?
A quick explainer.
Last updated: 9 July 2025
All listings on Trade Me have a ‘Listed date’, including listings on Trade Me Property.
The ‘Listed date’ simply refers to the date a specific property listing was uploaded to our site. It should not be used to determine how long a property has been on the market for sale.
We have policies to govern when and how frequently properties can be relisted on Trade Me Property, for example when a property has been off-site for 45 days, on-site for more than 90 days, or if a new agency takes over the listing. A property might be relisted on site at various stages or for various reasons. Therefore, the ‘Listed date’ (and ‘latest listings’) should not be construed by buyers as “the date a property first came to market”.
We strongly encourage buyers to research and inform themselves about a property, beyond what’s on a Trade Me listing. If you are interested in how long a property has been on the market, we recommend that you ask the listing agent.
