This charming antique Art Nouveau insect brooch is fashioned skilfully in a bright 9ct yellow gold and set with two moonstone cabuchones.

During the late 19th Century, many were left longing to reconnect with the beauty of the natural world after the vast urbanisation of Great Britain. This brought about an abundance of romanticised Insect and bug novelty jewellery, each abundantly decorated with colourful gemstones to highlight the beauty and value of nature.

Dating to the late 19th Century, this charming Edwardian insect novelty brooch is in excellent condition and a great conversation piece that will look wonderful crawling up your lapel, scarf, or bag.
