Pipistrel Sinus Motor Glider
Description
High Fuel price SOLUTION
How about 3 hours flying on 2 liters of fuel
Yes I've done it on a really good gliding day
Average gliding day 2 hrs on 8 liters of fuel
Or X country cruising average
7 liters per 100 km @ 95 knots
that is 40 mpg
And best buy price too as the nearest "cheap" Pipistrel is in Europe for Euros$77,000
with shipping and GST converted into NZ$ Is nearly NZ$200,000
Low running costs too

Questions & Answers
Is it registered as a GA, microlight, or sailplane? Cheers. trdmk (324 • 7:33 pm, Sat, 6 Dec )As a microlight with CAA NZ wabc (64 • Saturday, 6 December 2025 )Look out for my long blog on owning and flying a Sinus for 20 years Seller comment Sunday, 7 December 2025 http://www.propsrotorsglidersandrudders.blog Seller comment Wednesday, 17 December 2025 Do you know if the ballistic chute can be added to this year model? larry262 (0 • 9:40 am, Mon, 16 Feb )It originally had one but it had to be sent back to Eirope every 5 years to be serviced and NZ customs make it hard to re- import it as it explosives in it. I was worried the explosives might become unstable so at 7 years we removed it. I didn't want it popping out unexpectedly. I figured aggro vs benefit didn't weigh up. So far I've managed 12,000 hrs over 60 years without the need for a chute. But of course a midair or heart attack might have been awkward. wabc (64 • Monday, 16 February 2026 )Would it be possible to obtain your PPL in this aircraft? angus351 (0 • 11:23 pm, Tue, 3 Mar )Look up difference in AI ChatGPT or Co pilot really good comparison IMO if you have quite a bit of other flying experience, or are young, this aircraft would suffice as a trainer But if you have zero experience and are older / not used to machinery perhaps the Pipistrel Sinus is might be a little too advanced* *based on my experience as a 2000 hr flight instructor, albeit a long time ago wabc (64 • Tuesday, 3 March 2026 )Look up difference in AI ChatGPT or Co pilot really good comparison IMO if you have quite a bit of other flying experience, or are young, this aircraft would suffice as a trainer But if you have zero experience and are older / not used to machinery perhaps the Pipistrel Sinus is might be a little too advanced* *based on my experience as a 2000 hr flight instructor, albeit a long time ago Seller comment Wednesday, 4 March 2026
