Super-fun and easy 14-foot runabout
Description
Classic fun runabout with an engine that is at least from this century, unlike most of the older boats. Manual start and trim and pre-mix fuel leave little to worry about.
No starter motors, tilt hydraulics, flat batteries etc. All things you don't need to concern yourself with. Just pull the starter cord and away you go. Basic is best.
Most boats for this price have rough and no-WOF trailers. Not his one. A years WOF and reg, good tyres, no rust. Tow it anywhere safely. There is even a new winch, and a lock.
I fitted a hydrodoil to give the 25hp motor a bit more pop. It will plane 4-up easy enough, and with 2 or 3 on board is really quite fast while remaining good on gas. I flush it with saltaway each time and it pumps lots of water.
The hull has a deep 'V' shape and rides well in harbour chop. Lots of rod holders, anchor with chain and long rope, includes 20 litre gas tank.
