Craig Loomes Design Tournament
Description
Venom has been located in the Bay of Islands for many years and has been a very successful boat rigged for Game Fishing.
I purchased her approximately 5 years ago, at that time she had just undergone a full engine rebuild from previous owner (approx $30k spent). During my ownership she has been serviced annually and other than a new injector pipe has been faultless. I have had her serviced regularly by a well known ex Volvo mechanic who has been very complimentary of the mechanical condition. I replaced all house and crank batteries Nov 25 as part of routine maintenance.
A few features include
Volvo AM41P 200HP with Volvo 290 Duo Prop Sternleg Tuna tubes Game poles Simrad Evo 12inch Sounder and Chartplotter 500 ltr fuel tank Bait station with huge live bait tank Rocket launcher Maxwell windlass anchor with new chain Hard top with condition clears incl backdrop curtain and winter cover VHF radio Bluetooth stereo Gas burner stove Sink Toilet New(ish) upholstery 2.8m Highfield Tender
Venom sleeps a minimum of three comfortably and is set up for weekend adventures which we have done lots of. It burns approx 22ltr/hour at 20 knots. With a clean bum she has a top speed of 29 knots but cruises beautifully and efficiently at 22 knots and doesn't need to slow down for much.
I painstakingly removed 30 years of old antifoul last November taking her back to original gelcoat and reapplied new primer/antifoul as well as a service on the stern leg. I will negotiate a new antifoul and stern leg service with potential buyers.
There are Volvo trim tabs installed however they are not operational at present. I had planned to replace with new ones but haven't got around to it.
There are two other Tournaments on the market well into the $100k price-point, these boat have a reputation for serious blue water boats for good reason. This represents outstanding value.
