International Fireball Racing Dinghies (3)
Description
Back on the listing after non sale. International class, The Fireball is an easy to sail forgiving ,medium high performance, two man design from 1960s.Has hard chine side and bilge panels and is narrow for speed and stability It is a strict design with only very limited variation in construction making boats very competitive to each other. Typically plywood or fibreglass with foam sandwich allowed. No or very minimal carbon fibre allowed. So generally easy/cheap construction (made for the home builder). They are a real pleasure to sail. 3 boats are for sale. Price is per boat. Buy three and start a class in your area. All built about 1989 to 1991 .They are in need of some maintenance. They have multiple mainsail suits and more jibs available (19) for all boats..4 spinnakers available with a spinnaker pole each. Each has a launching trolley.(beach trolley). One side stay has broken wires which have been repaired with tellurit crimps and extra wire for strength. A bit of a cheap fix that buyer might prefer to have done properly with a whole new side stay. (special flattened wire stay stronger and lighter than conventional but a more difficult wire to locate.) one boat is stripped of fittings for maintenance and could do with some updating of fittings but a hull thats in pretty good condition. It has a Super Spar mast and proctor boom. They have cosmetic dents and boom is repaired after a split in the aluminium at rear end. Has Proctor spinnaker pole. Also on a road trailer which is unregistered and not warranted.Boat was made in Christchurch. Other two have very similar rigging and are ready to sail Proctor masts and boom and spinnaker poles. These two need a bit of a spruce up paintwise though still usable. One has a small ding at the back topside which is repaired with tape. Both were made in Australia. 3 trapeze harnesses are available. All have a set of foils and several other rudders are available for experimentation. I dont have the time to sail these anymore.
