The Beneteau 473 is described as the best cruising yacht Beneteau has produced. 100Hp Yanmar Engine. 600Lt Water Holding, 60l/h Watermaker. 360Lt Fuel Holding. This yacht "Halo" has had over $400K of upgrades since 2022, including: total deck replacement, superb repaint, carbon fibre furling boom 2023, new sail wardrobe, electronics upgrade, inc new autopilot and displays. Re-rigged Dec 2022. New stove, electric toilets, new anchor chain & winch, new canvas fully covered cockpit. New batteries 2024, new bow-thruster, replaced all sea-cocks with Tru-design, etc,etc. Records of all expenditure over the last 4 years available. Halo gained Cat 1 Certification in April 2024. Hi Stew, You mentioned deck replacement, could you tell us what was done please, was it teak before etc Cheers vela2000 (275 • 3:44 pm, Tue, 18 NovThe decks of the Beneteau 473 are constructed of fibreglass (GRP) with a balsa wood core. On top of the deck they lay a teak veneer which is glued and screwed. This causes problems over time with leaks.I chiselled off all the teak veneer, then Norsand boat builders cut out the top layer of fibre glass. They sucked out all the balsa and replaced it with high density EPS foam core. The fibre glass on top was renewed.
