Description

PRICE DROP. FRESHLY ANTIFOULED AND READY FOR REMAINING SUMMER Amitie II is a beautifully designed, crafted and behaved yacht, in excellent sound condition. Her design was commissioned from renown UK marine architect John Laurent Giles, who gained particular fame for his Wanderer class designs, still widely regarded as one of the best small voyaging yachts. She was built by a Nelson surgeon using specially selected kauri, spotted gum ribs, mahogany cabin and ply decks. Her spruce spar is another feature. She's a lovely boat to sail, tracking on rails, swift and sea-kindly. She feels really solid and predictable, making her safe and comfortable.

Her previous owner lavished a lot of care and investment in her, fitting some lovely joinery, new engine, electronics, solar panels etc. I have tried to maintain some of his dedication with new paint from bare wood below the waterline, along with a total repaint of the decks and cabin last summer. This included polishing and recaulking all of the window frames.

She includes a full inventory, some of which is listed below:

Main, no1, 2 (working and slightly yankee cut), 3 and storm jib. Volvo (Perkins) D2 55hp with 371hrs (may change with minor use). Regularly serviced by marine mechanics. Raymarine chartplotter, depth sounder, VHF, battery monitor, etc Fleming self steering in great condition 3 x 100 AH house batteries (almost new) with discharge controller, cranking battery in good order. Quality marine stereo. AirHead composting toilet. Bronze windlass. Rocna anchor and approx 80m of heavy chain. Bimini cover for cockpit.

A change in my life situation means that I no longer have the time to enjoy Amitie II to the level that she deserves - she needs to be sailing rather than shackled to a mooring. As a result I am on the search for a new lover and custodian for her - someone that will appreciate her pedigree and qualities and look after her accordingly. Parua Bay mooring may be available to sell.
