‘Impetuous’

• A 15.68 m Beneteau Idylle mono hull masthead sloop. Designed by German Frers, built by Beneteau Yachts of France, launched 1987. Hull construction is of GRP fibreglass. The inner hull is reinforced by transvers plywood bulkheads and box sectioned GRP and ply, floors and frames that form a structural grid throughout the lower interior hull Decks, cabin super structures and cockpit is female moulded GRP fibreglass over areas of balsa core. The hull to deck join is a over lay flange and is sealed and through fastened with a aluminum overlay toe rail. The Keel is fin shaped cast lead or iron, through bolted to a heavily lay-up GRP keelson. Construction is of a good overall standard and it is to proven specifications and correct GRP boat building practice. Mast and spars are aluminum. Rig configuration is that of a twin spreader masthead Sloop. Standing rigging is s/steel wire 1 x 19. Chain plates are s/steel through deck to s/steel rod fastened to heavily fore and aft run carriers glassed to hull. Date of last inspection unknown. Recommend full rig inspection Vessel auxiliary power is from a single 85 hp Perkins Marine diesel engine to a shaft fitted with a bronze 3 bladed fixed propellor
